jonathan hack is Director of Content & Strategy for the Justice, Health, and Democracy Impact Initiative (JHD), managing daily operations and setting long-term strategic goals, aimed at realizing impactful and replicable solutions to pressing social issues.

Previously, jon served as the Program Officer for the Social Science Research Council’s Anxieties of Democracy program. Motivated by a concern about whether the core institutions of representative democracies can capably address large problems in the public interest, Anxieties of Democracy promoted research and dialogue on a range of topics related to democratic functioning, addressing the political consequences of governing in times of political polarization. At SSRC, jon led cross-functional teams, expanding the project’s scope and lifecycle by directing numerous strategic outreach initiatives. 

jon holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from The George Washington University with a focus on judicial decision-making and statistical methodology. His work has been feature in outlets such as, Political Research QuarterlyNewsday, and the Challenge. Change. podcast.
